Issue Notice:
- The single stamp was issued as a Souvenir Sheet.
- Tea culture originally started in Asia. In Myanmar, tea is mainly cultivated in Shan State.
- The tea plantation shown in the stamp is the Oolong Tea Plantation in the Tah Moe Hnye Region, Kutkai Township, Northern Shan State.
- In Myanmar, tea is traditionally used, especially as pickled tea leaves and green or dried tea leaves.
- Pickled tea leaves, which are made through fermentation and steeping, are used to prepare tea leaf salad (Lahpet Thoke) by mixing them with various ingredients.
- Dried tea leaves are used to make plain green tea.
