Issue Notice:

  • The pictures of Mon People, lotus and Samkhok pottery depicted on stamp represent the background and identity of more than 300 years of Pathumthani´s history, from the reign of King Narai. In the reign of King Rama II, there is a lot of Mon people migrated from Myanmar to Thailand.
  • The King aloowed them to settle their residence at Samkhok which had been changed to Pratumthani on August 23, 1815. Later King Rama VI has upgraded the "city" to be "Province" and has changed its name from "Pratumthani" to "Pathumthani" which refers to the city of Lotus, the local flower. Slogan of the city refers to the city of Lotus and rice, Mon´s people, and Dhamma Land.
  • Samkhok pottery is the local pottery that has been originated by Mon people since the past.
