Issue Notice:
- Stamp issues having a limited area of service and for the most part not generally available to the public are known from Siam.
- In most cases, with the exception of the British Post Office in Bangkok, it should be remembered that little exact knowledge exists.
- What follows is meant to be a starting point for further reasearch.
- Two items occasionally offered as local stamps.
- The first is rather an essay for a revenue issue and the second is probably an essay for a regular stamp issue.
- Different colors are known from the "King's Monogram Essay" stamp (red, green, grey, purple, dark red etc.) which probably corresponded to different tax rates
- ISSUES UP TO APPROX. 1950:
- (MH/MLH) / (*) - Mint / unused with hinges, hinge remains, incomplete gum, tropical gum etc.
- (MNH) / (**) - Mint never hinged and/or without hinge remnants, complete gum as issued, possibly darkened.
